Discover Maple Weekend 2018

Maple Weekend 2018 is almost here! What is Maple Weekend you ask? Every spring, maple producers from across New York state welcome families to their farms to experience how maple syrup and other related products are made. Visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy fun-family friendly activities, taste New York's freshest syrup and purchase maple products. So mark your calendars now, Maple Weekend 2018 is on March 17-18 and March 24-25, from 10 AM to 4 PM*. Tours and product samples are offered at most sites FREE of charge. 

Most kids love Maple Syrup, so it would be an amazing learning experience for them to see where it came from and how it's made. The process is fascinating to watch and best of all you can taste it for FREE! Here are some of the participating Maple farms close to Schenectady. Be sure to call ahead of time, and wear appropriate clothing and shoes when visiting.

Come join us in our cozy sugarhouse as we continue the tradition of making maple syrup. All days will feature interactive tours of our sugaring operation, and Sawmill as well as a variety of demonstrations. Maple products for sale and there will be free samples! Visitors will be able to see how maple syrup is made and can learn about the maple syrup grading system. It will be a fun time for the entire family!

Come smell the welcoming aroma of maple syrup being made over a wood-fired arch. Learn how sap grows up and becomes maple syrup. Enjoy woodlands and mountain range scenery as you take a free tractor-drawn wagon ride to the sap bush! We make stops to explain the tapping process and use of buckets and pipeline systems. If the sap is running our wood-fired evaporator will be going full steam; see first-hand how maple syrup is produced.
