Skittles Science Experiment for Kids

By Gladys Dunbar February 15, 2017
Here’s an easy science experiment using Skittles to do with the kiddos during February Break! They will surely watch in amazement as the colors spread!

What you need:
Skittles
Warm water
White Plate

Have the kids arrange Skittles around the edge of a white plate. Let the kids decide on whatever Skittles combination or pattern. Warm a cup of water and slowly pour about 1/2 inch of water at the center. Watch as the Skittles dissolve in water.

Variations:
  • Test a variety of liquids and candies
  • Set a stopwatch and check how long it takes for the skittles to fully dissolve!
