As a kid, I love watching Dragon Dances during Chinese New Year. Chinese dragons are believed to bring good luck to people, therefore the longer the dragon in the dance, the more luck it will bring to the community.
For Chinese New Year, we thought it would be fun to make a Fire Breathing Dragon with materials we have at home. It's easy to make and fun!
What you'll need:
- Plastic or Paper Cup (preferably in Red or Green)
- Strips of tissue paper or streamers
- Scissors
- Glue (and tape)
- Pompom
- Googly eyes
How to make it:
Step 1: Cut the bottom of the cup.
Step 2: Cut the tissue paper or steamer into 4 to 6 inches long. At the bottom of the cup, stick the strips of tissue paper or streamers on the inside of the cup.
Step 3: Glue the googly eye on a pompom and stick this to the other end of the cup.
Step 4: Once dry, blow through the cup and the streamers should blow out like fire!
